EASTER DAY

"Jesus Christ is Risen Today, Hallelujah"
Since we had been to the Vigil Mass celebrating Easter day, the evening before......We started our Easter morning finding and enjoying our Easter Baskets that the Bunny delivered as we slept soundly

The kids were so excited!

We had an indoor Easter Egg hunt due to the rainy Easter Eve and morning

Then it was time to head back from the Lakehouse to our house in Keller to receive all of our Easter Dinner guests!  We hosted the dinner at our house for my parents, my sister and her kids, and Nana and Papa.  It was nice to all be together on this joyous day!
All of the cousins and their Easter suckers
Silly sucker pic!  They are so funny!

Here are pics of ALL the yummy food!  It was truly a feast!  We are truly blessed!
My grandpa Johnson (an immigrant from Sweden) would always rate a party by how many meats the host served....we would ask him, "How was the party, Grandpa?"  He would answer with excitement (in his thick Scandinavian accent) ...."Oh....Two meats!!"
 (Here is my Grandpa Johnson)
 I love Turkey!
Of course, the traditional Easter Ham
 Potato Casserole
Baked Beans......nothing goes better with Easter Ham
 Creamed Spinach
Potato Salad....not a favorite of mine, but my mom's specialty......Everyone goes CRAZY over it!

For dessert......
For generations, our family has always had a Lamb Cake for Easter day to celebrate the rising of our Lord, Jesus Christ!  My grandma Johnson (my mom's mom) would always bake one for Easter while my mom was growing up and now my mom has carried on the tradition for our family!  She has perfected her beautiful and yummy Lamb cake over the years!
Why a Lamb cake.......Jesus is the Lamb of God....the Perfect Sacrifice for our sins!
Daddy read the Resurrection Story from the Bible (Luke 24:1-53) while we enjoyed our Lamb Cake for dessert

The kids listened with much wonderment! (that is a great word)
Thank you Jesus, for another blessed Easter surrounded by our family!  Praise You, Father!

Happy Easter to all!
